Softwaretechnik Praktikum I: Autohaus Pordi
2002As part of the Software Engineering Lab I, the prototype “Autohaus Pordi” was developed in 2002. The project focused on designing an integrated desktop application to support the core business processes of a car dealership. The assignment was based on a realistic scenario involving the planned takeover of a dealership representing the fictional premium brand Pordi.
The objective was to create a software prototype covering key domains such as repair workshop operations, spare parts inventory, new and used car sales, leasing, accessories, and roadside assistance. A central challenge was accommodating a frequently changing product portfolio, as well as evolving services and pricing structures.
The system was implemented in Java, building on an existing framework (“SalesPoint”). The project emphasized object-oriented modeling, modular system architecture, user interface design, and the practical application of software engineering principles in a complex domain-driven context.
