Sächsischer Landtag: Sitzordnung mit SVG
2003In 2003, an interactive seating chart for the Saxon State Parliament was developed using SVG, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS. The goal was to present the complex seating arrangement of the plenary chamber in a clear, scalable, and data-driven visualization.
The graphic was generated dynamically from a database, allowing changes in party affiliation or seat distribution to be reflected immediately in the visual representation. Color coding, grouping, and spatial layout closely followed the real seating arrangement, enabling quick visual orientation.
The project focused on the programmatic generation of SVG graphics, structured data modeling, and interactive elements such as highlighting parliamentary groups or individual members. It represents an early example of data-driven web visualization, developed well before modern visualization frameworks became commonplace.
